St. Stephens 3, South Point 0 – South Point finished the season at 14-8-1 overall. Congratulations to the South Point W Soccer team for an outstanding overall record and for winning their first playoff games in 6 years. Great job girls!!!!!

MAY 2011 | W SOCCER - PLAYOFFS

South Point 1, N. Buncombe 0 – Diamond Davis scored the game’s lone goal off an assist by Kellie Patz and Paige Donaldson in the 1-0 win. Tristan Hunt had the shutout in goal in a strong defensive effort. South Point plays at St. Stephens on Wednesday in the next round of the playoffs.

South Point 1, Patton 0 – Diamond Davis scored South Point’s lone goal 10 minutes into the second half on an assist from Paige Donaldson.

Tristan Hunt recorded the shutout in goal for the Lady Red Raiders (13-8-1), who will travel to take on the winner of Tuscola and North Buncombe in the second round on Friday or Saturday.

South Point’s Lauren Joyner, Meredith Levi, Katie McLean, Molly Fisher, Megan Ludwig and Savannah Shaney led the Red Raiders on defense.

The win was South Point’s first in the playoffs in at least six years, according to the coaching staff.

South Point 2, Forestview 2 – Diamond Davis and Ashley Mull scored for the Red Raiders on assists from Janet Widenhouse and Davis. Alexandria Spurrier and Rylee Johnson scored for Forestview South Point (12-7-1, 7-4-1) hosts Olympic on Wednesday.

Katy McLean and Ashley Mull dished out two assists each. Tristan Hunt and Raegan Lamont combined on the shutout in goal. The Lady Raiders (8-4, 4-1 Big South 3A) visit Crest on Monday.
